Recently, I was asked to write
a poem for my "Angel's Watching Over You"
group.
We have so many husbands, friends,
Sons and daughters serving
in various branches of the Military,
we wanted to honor them with
a "special page"~~~~~it has not
yet been completed, but I thought I'd
like to share some of my work here.
Angel's Prayer for Our Military
Heavenly Father, Almighty Lord,
We come before You with one accord.
Hold tight in Your Sheltering Arms
All our Military;
Keep them safe from harm.
Peace we seek: for Peace is right,
But for our homeland, they're called to fight.
So off they go to fight this war;
Leaving behind those they most adore.
Mothers, Fathers, Husbands, Wives,
All volunteer to risk their lives,
And the loved ones that they leave behind,
Face hardships of a different kind.
Their families, Lord, are battling, too.
For they miss their loved ones, and must make do
with messages, emails, letters and poems
Until their loved ones are finally home.
Our men and women go to strange lands;
They try their best to understand.
They try to help, to bring hope and cheer;
Some have been gone for many a year.
Hold them Lord, in the Hollow of Your Hand.
Guide our leaders, let them all stand,
True to the cause that is right, that is just.
Protect them as they fight, for fight they must.
Heavenly Father, hear our humble plea !!!
Bring my soldier home to me.
Let Your Spirit Protect, and Guide,
Until they are Safely at my side.
Remembering what we can never forget:
The Pentagon, Twin Towers, that crashing jet,
Our first hero's died on 9-1-1
Our Troops will fight on, till the battle is one.
