Petals In The Grass

Sweet Disaster

A decomposing love
evaporates into the air
The demons of yesterdays goodbye
Still loiter in my mind
Fluent in provocation
An intoxicating taste
Of no relief

Falling victim
To the finality
And to kiss-less lips
Which disappear before me
The quandary of her
Or the lack there of
Is a sweet disaster

Longing for something
Or to be human
The wolf is calling
Resentful howls
Wail away
My silver ego
Needs polishing
