Lost to the darkness

I am lost to the darkness… black is all I know.
I have never seen the light of day…
felt sunsets gentle glow.
I have never seen true love… or the reflection that it brings.
I have never seen the waters glow…
Or the early bird that sings.
I have never seen green meadows… or summers golden corn.
I have never seen my mothers’ eyes…
Or her heart so badly torn.
I have never seen a valley… or the mountains’ all so high…
I have never seen true faith…
But I have often heard her cry.
I have never seen good reason… to hurt another soul.
But I have often felt the pain of life…
As joy turns into woe.
I live my life in darkness… black is all I know.
...Peace and love is in my heart…
But where else?...i'll never know!
