Where Will You Be After
Where will you be
After the first drink
Will you be talking to your friends
Will you be dancing
Or will you be walking out the door
What about after the second
Or the third
Where will you be then
Will you be out in the parking lot
Fighting with someone over some dumb reason
A reason you won't even remember tomorrow
It might not matter now
But the bruises will still be there
Will you be hacking your guts out
Bent over a toilet
A toilet which just by the looks of it
Normally would make you sick
On its own
What about after the fourth or fifth drink
Where will you be then
Heading off to go to bed
With a person you've never met
A person that tomorrow
Will have you kickin yourself in the head over
Will you remember to “protect” yourself
Or is this gonna cost you over and over again
The "morning after" is too late to find out
Worse yet
Will you get behind the wheel of your car
Can you live with what can happen then
You have always said
It will never be me
Don't you know
Never can be as close as you make it
Where will you be after the sixth drink
Will you be heading to the hospital
In the back of an ambulance
Unconscious
Covered in your own puke
Will you be passed out somewhere
Left naked and alone
After your “friends” have had their way with you
Or will you just be left out in the cold
Because you can't remember where home is anymore
That is if it hasn't cost you your home already
No
None of this sounds pretty
It's not what you see
In the beer commercials
You don't usually see this part
In the movies or on TV
Not that you would want to anyway
No
This is real life
This is where it takes you
This is where the road leads
So I ask you again
Where will you be
After your first drink
