My sweet child I carried you
For nine months to the day
Upon my life you left an imprint
That will never go away
I stood looking at my stomach
Knowing you were there inside
And then I saw a little foot
Which brought tears to my eyes
I reached to tickle little toes
Imagining your laughter in my ears
The laughter that still warms my days
Over the passing of the years
My little one I love you
I have from the very start
Your tiny foot left an imprint
Upon your mommy's heart
