In The Middle Of The Night!

In the middle
Of the night,
I wake from dream
And sit upright!

My stomach stirs,
My head sweet swirls,
I rise from bed
And check the pearls!

They are so old,
So soft and round,
The nicest ever
Pearls around!

They're waiting for
The wedding day,
Around her neck,
They'll gently sway!

I check the cake,
So tall and white,
It stately stands
In this still night!

The dress long hangs,
All glitter gold,
It will sure match
The pearls, so old!

The candles wait,
So new and white,
To flicker soft
And shine so bright!

The little bride
Sleeps on in dream,
Upon her face,
A soft moonbeam!

Joy Weare.
25th March, 2005.
