 Julias' Poetry from the Heart

Home

As I sit here alone with my thoughts
My eyes wander around the room
I see pictures on the walls
From a time long passed,

Chairs that were once filled
With eager young bodies
Now sit empty and alone,

There are no sounds of laughter
Children running back and forth
Playing their mischievous games,

This is the place of my childhood
Where I once was happy at play
With my brothers and sisters,

Those times have now gone
We have all grown and moved on,

While I drift from room to room
I can feel the memories
And hear the laughter and joy
From a time long ago
