Dad's Special Day Off!

My dad he really works too hard,
Fixing this and that and the other!
But he always makes a flippin' mess,
Flippin' eck, I need to tell me mother!

I told her that there's oil spilt…
All over the kitchen floor,
And that me dad had broken…
The handle on the flippin' door!

Me mother went bananas,
And told us off for all the mess,
She made us clean the oil up,
Cos it was really awful, I guess!

Then once he fixed a puncture,
On a tatty, scruffy old bike,
And when I asked if I should help,
He told me to take a hike!

But he was only messin',
Cos dad's do that all the time,
And he laughed at me and said;
‘Ben, you're really doing just fine!'

And when I was a baby,
I cried all day and night,
And always woke everyone up,
By giving them a fright!

And Cathy is a pain you know!
Writing all these in flippin' rhyme,
I really, really do not know!
How she finds the time!!!

So me and Karl gave her things,
That she had to write for us,
Wow, flippin' ‘eck, shes a nark!
And made such a flippin' fuss!

So here's a special poem,
About dad's special day off, but you see!
I don't think he ever really had one!
Cos he was always playing about with me!
