Would You Treat Me Any Different

If you've seen the things I've seen
Done the things I've done
Said the things I've said
Would you treat me any different

I've been through things no one should go through
Burying more skeletons in my closet than a cemetery
If I was deaf, mute & blind
Would you treat me any different

If I possessed a dark, horrible secret
Carried a terminal, debilitating disease
Denounced all things that were immaculate & pure
Would you treat me any different

You befriended me in such a way
Not knowing the person that lives deep inside my soul
Taking a risk upon your character
Would you treat me any different

Your mouth pleads with me to differ from my thoughts
Even your actions go against what I think
But it still remains the same
You would treat me any different
