A Day in Prophecy

Acts 2:16-21

It was the prophet Joel that had once said,
Of what God had filtered into his head;
That it will come about at the end of time,
God to send His Spirit into flesh sublime.

Your sons and daughters will be prophets,
As young men will see visions of secrets;
While older men shall dream to perceive,
Many things that you just will not believe.

Wonders seen in Heaven as well on earth,
Blood and fire and smoke for all its worth;
Death and destruction spread far and wide,
To cause suffering and to lose their pride.

The moon will be blood as the sun darkens,
Before the day the Lord comes and beckons;
For whoever makes a plea to God in prayer,
Being saved in their repentance they share.

Salvation is theirs who looks to the Lord,
Obedience to His Word will get a reward;
As that notable day of the Lord to come,
Separating the righteous from the scum.

We are living at a critical time here on earth.  It may be the most critical that the world has ever seen.  You might not even realize it, but we could be witnessing prophecy in our midst already taking place.  God is already pouring out His Spirit in the preparation of the final days.

Maybe some of us who call ourselves as Christians might be a little skeptical about prophecy.  Just as many are little leery about the prophecies of Nostradamus, who I myself  reserve any comments about as well.  In any event, who are we to judge any prophecy especially when the person is speaking for God.  There are numerous prophets in the Scriptures that have given us the details of exactly what will happen.

The prophet, Joel is very specific on what will be happening in the end time as it was also referenced in the Book of Acts.  He tells us of the servants and handmaidens of God.  We are not just talking about the born-again Christian per se.  These are the people who are totally committed to the Lord.  A total commitment is one who has a devoted love for the Heavenly Father.  It is a commitment that is 24/7, totally available to God at all hours of the day or night. That is because you are putting your entire heart and soul into the Lord.

Not one of us can stake our claims to being this type of servant or handmaiden.  No one, not even me.  I will be the first to admit that I could never fulfill those shoes because of other interests that I am involved in.  The same is true with nearly everyone who is reading this.  Most people have jobs that you go to.  The only movie that you watch is not the “Passion of Christ” or “The Greatest Story Ever Told..”  We all have outside interests of the Church.  The military is in a constant state of readiness in preparation for war.  So, how can each of us be beckoned by Christ as He floats in the cloud towards the earth?

God has chosen whoever been faithful servants.  Those experiencing a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit as spoken by Peter in Acts will know.  Your faith speaks to you.  You will be Spirit inspired for a day in prophecy.
