TRY TO UNDERSTAND~~~

Larry and Becky have lost two children.
Janis Jo when she was only 44 days old,
a victim of crib death.
And Marcus Lee, who sadly ended his life.

Becky received this poem at the time
of Janis Jo's death.
She has entered it into Marcus's Memorial Book.

I want to share it with you........

I'll lend to you, for a little while
A child of mine, He said
To love the while he lives with you
And mourn for when he's dead.

It may be six or seven weeks
Or years of twenty two or three
But won't you, till I call him back
Take care of him for me.

I've searched the whole world over
For my teachers true
And from the throngs that crowd life's lanes
I have selected you.

Now will you give him all your love
And never think the labor vain
Nor hate me when I come to call
To take him back again.

I fancy that I heard you say
Dear Lord, thy will be done
For all the joy this child did bring
The risk of grief we"ll run,

We'll shelter him with tenderness
And love him while we may
And for all the joy this child shall bring
Forever grateful stay.

And should you call him home
Much sooner than we'd planned
We'll brave the bitter grief that comes
AND TRY TO UNDERSTAND.
