I Can't Make You Love Me

I get tired of trying
To make you love me
The way that love
Is supposed to be
Love is something
That is shared
All types of emotions are felt
But you should never be scared
Materialistic things
Mean nothing to me
Just open your heart
And set it free
Your words speak out
But your actions do not
When we are together
Things take on a new route
I never know
What to expect
All I ever feel
Is hurt and upset
If only I knew what to feel
Or what to say
Maybe I wouldn't have to wonder
Because you'd show me one day
Why must I
Always feel like this
I often feel so hurt
And also pissed
I give you my heart
With hopes that
You'll do the same
But you toy with me
And play me as if a game
Through it all
As time goes by
I begin to see
I get so tired
Trying to
Make you love me
