Emma
Emma had
Red crazy hair
And lots of freckles
Everywhere.
She always wore
Odd socks and shoes.
One eye was green,
The other blue.
Emma wore
A floppy hat,
With great big holes
Chewed by her rat.
She drank from puddles
With a straw.
She slurped and slopped
And sucked some more.
At playtime she once
Climbed a tree,
And would not come down
"Till half past three.
She tied toilet paper
Round her nose,
To stop it dripping
On her clothes.
Emma loved
Collecting junk.
She hid it all
Beneath her bunk.
She gave her teacher
A withered rose,
And held it right
Up to her nose.
She ate raw onion
For her lunch,
And said bird seed
Was nice to crunch.
She put her pet snake
On her lap.
She did her sums
And let it nap.
Then when she did
Her spelling test,
It slid onto
The teacher's desk.
The teacher gave
The loudest scream,
That turned her face
A ghastly green.
Emma made the
Weirdest face,
That sent her teacher
Into space!
Joy Weare.
11th April, 2005.
