Giving

When a love grows into friendship
It's a new beginning not an end
They who once were lovers
Become loving friends
They can close and bolt all doors
Lift their drawbridges so to speak
And safely discuss the events
Of the last year, month, week.
Shared experiences remembered
Old grievances put in perspective
A warm and caring
Way to live
And to give
