A Different Path

While sitting here at my computer

I am overcome with a sense of sadness,

I cannot help thinking

How different my life would have been

If you were still here with me,

As the weeks and months pass by

The path ahead does not always seem clear,

It is strange how our lives can change

By one simple moment in time,

The dreams I once had

Have begun to fade

As my journey takes me

To another place,

And even though I know in my heart

I have many loved ones around me,

I cannot help but wonder

What my life would have been

If you were still here

With me
