Special Delivery
This is the second poem written
for Johnny's Adoption.
With My Congratulations to
Johnny and his family.
Special Delivery
A handsome boy sat waiting
For directions to his new home.
His Guardian Angel told him
They were leaving very soon.
His Mom and Dad were chosen
From God's-Own Special Few,
For they must be compassionate,
Loving, Loyal, and True.
God searched the whole world over
Till He could find a Mom
To cradle a child to her bosom,
And explain from whence he'd come.
That God, in His Infinite Wisdom,
Knew she needed a little boy,
One she could love and cherish
That would fill her heart with joy.
God chose a strong man for his father
A man who stood tried and true.
Who would teach his son to be gentle
In all things he would do.
Naomi and Johnny were chosen
To love this child of the King
And the Angel was sent down from Heaven
With this message she was to bring.
I leave this boy in your Safe-keeping;
Teach him to be loving and strong,
The sorrows that you've had to suffer
Would build your strength for so long.
Teach him to love everybody,
And to pray to the Lord up above,
And teach him the joy of a family,
Surround him with unconditional Love.
