New Life!Life has many problems, And we have to accept the good and bad, For when we are given a gift of life, We really shouldn't be so sad. A miracle that's what it is, This little tiny baby! Not a ‘seed' not a ‘nonentity', Not an ‘if' ‘but' or ‘maybe'! People argue all the time, That at first it's not a life! And this misconception so upsets me! My heart twists like a knife! From the very first day! Yes, I mean from conception, A life it most certainly is! This is a true correction! For around the twelfth day… So tiny and so weak, A heartbeat begins, But truly a wondrous feat! This then ‘is' a baby! A life getting ready to birth! There's nothing at all quite like it! Nothing so good on earth! So yes! This is a baby! Not a seed as some would say! It is so, so why do they feel no guilt? When they are throwing it away! This innocent life, this baby, Is not a seed, no not at all! But the beginning of a new miracle, Tiny, fragile and small! It can't speak for itself! If it could, you would hear it cry… ‘Please leave me alone in my warm cocoon! Because I don't want to die!' But it can't – not yet!!! Will you be its voice?
