The life We live…The path we walk is a hard one, I see the sorrowful sights of life! People who can't afford to eat, Living an unbearable life of strife! I see the pitying eyes of the children, Who are sitting outside of a pub! While their parents are inside drunk, And the children without any grub! There are children on every corner, Left on their own, to their own device… Robbing and cussing causing havoc, No, I'm afraid it isn't very nice! But the adults of today are the ones… Who should hang their head in shame! Dragging kids up in the gutter, Not caring, it's so sad, it's not a game! Latch-key kids out late at night, Parents who don't give a toss… They are drug runners, dealers, whatever, No matter, their life's going to be a loss… They wander the streets all hours, No place to call their home… Just ‘dossers' to ‘nice' people who stare! But no, they are simply people alone… Walking the streets doesn't make them dossers! Nor does it make them any less than another! Life has its trials and tribulations… And every kid and adult had a mother! So look to yourself before you judge, Don't mock what you don't know! For one day soon, that may be you! We never know what road ‘we' will go! So look to the eyes of the children you see, And make a space inside your heart… For not everyone has luxuries you know! No, not everyone has a good start! But does that make them the lesser? Do you look, and then turn quickly away? Or do you try to care a little? Just open your eyes, ears and heart today! There will always be casualties of war you know! The war of the ‘trials of sorrow and pain…' For each of us has our own sorry war… Don't judge others, cos that's such a shame! So look not at others unkindly! Just because they don't have a home! It doesn't make them losers you know! They hurt too! And some are so alone! Not everyone has someone, that's true! Because life isn't on easy street! So don't you frown and don't look down… At people you have yet to meet! Because there is good in everyone! You just have to see it…but its there!
