The Pains            Indeed the pains of a Black Woman Are great and are much undeserved Such feelings of hopelessness and worry Such a burden, in such an unkind world Indeed the pains of a Black Woman Create depression and feelings of uselessness Susceptible to false love and security Denied and treated badly, more than less Indeed the pains of a Black Woman Create instability and much imbalance Confined to exist in insufficiently Burdened by the effects of malice Indeed the pains of a Black Woman Exist from the curse placed upon our nation Yet our men must no longer be weak We must unite in love and secure our protection Indeed the pains of a Black Woman Are deep and cut like the sharpest knife Now treated as hoes, freaks, and tricks Hardly respected as mother, as wife Indeed the pains of a Black Woman Are sad enough to make the whole world cry Yet this world cares not for our people In fact the masses would have us die Indeed the pain of a Black Woman Trickle downward and affects our seeds This is the aftermath of a people tortured & robbed Of our kingdoms, our legacies, our needs Indeed the pains of a Black Woman Steadily increase as our families are lost We must turn this fate of death and destruction We must rebuild no matter the cost Indeed the pains of a Black Woman Are intended to continue our sorrow, our fall Yet we are Queens of this world, nothing less We are survivors, the most powerful and ancient of all! crystyle/storm.copyright2005 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
