Wood Nymph

4/15/05

A young wood nymph within her tree
Saw a golden small fairy
She watched her as she flew and played
Right there in her special glade

Ioney was the fairy's name
The wood nymph saw they were the same
They both were new to magic things
And didn't know about fairy rings

The wood nymphs name was Dioni
Who came from a small dogwood tree
As she stepped out and danced around
Ioney lit upon the ground

“Oh let's be friends” Ioney said
Dioni smiled, nodded her head
“We will play and be carefree
When it rains we'll go to my tree”

There are many things out here
In the woods, but don't you fear
I know them all, by scent and name
Where they are and from where they came

Dioni and Ioney knew
That they were very young and knew
They knew they had a lot to learn
And all their teachers would be stern

They knew they'd really have to shine
With other children of their kind
So everyone could surely see
They weren't silly and carefree.

Dioni's tree was calling her
Twas time to sleep within her fur
Ioney wanted jut to find
A bower where she'd rest her mind

A yellow rose called out, “Come child”
You are rather meek and mild
I wouldn't mind you sleep here
With me you've nothing you must fear.”

Ioney settled in her nest
This yellow rose just was the best
when the flowers were touched with dew
Ioney's face was glistening too

Dioni and Ioney played
The two of them stayed in the glade
Ioney heard her mother's call
She answered “I found someone small”

Jenith flew into the glade
Into the peaceful wondrous shade
“This is a magic place indeed
It's perfect for you two to see”

“It's perfect for you two to be
So comfortable and so carefree
With yellow roses everywhere
And dew that glistens in your hair”

Dioni hugged her brand new friend
And prayed that this would never end
They'd grow stronger everyday
Until their folks would have to say

Well done my dears in everyway.
