 The Unfairness Of Angels

The fear of the Dark Prince

What makes something that is infallible to fear scared?
What darkness is kept so hidden that it is never shared?
The Dark prince doesn't fear death
Infact he longs sometimes to take his final breathe
Nor does he face his decent into the pits of hell
As he has actually been there, but he would never tell
For demons he has seen whose skin crawl with decay
And been to bleakest parts of the world far, far away
He has been face to face with the epitome of demons
Some say he is sacred of age and the changing of the seasons
But how can the lonely ever fear being alone
He has crossed worlds never finding home
And seasons bring the coldest winters and a hotter summer
But he knows extremes always follow one another
He doesn't fear a woman's scorn
How could he? He loved his mother when he was born
Yes his heart has been broken, yes he has been blinded by feelings
But he keeps this to himself on those quite silent evenings
He doesn't fear failure because to fail is to learn his mistakes
From consuming the lies you root out the fakes
The Dark Prince fears water, the deep oceans
And nothing can conquer this fear, not even magical potions
The fear of drowning being consumed by water
Brings the Prince to almost certain slaughter
The Dark Prince cannot swim
And he carries this curse always with him
When he was a child he was at sea
Drifted to a world of unknown destiny
The savage waves and beasts of the deep
To scared to scream, to sick to eat
His small boat overturned and he sank
Then he woke up, his final memories blank
But now in his dreams he dreams of him sinking
With the echoes of his heart still beating
And although he has set sail since this day
These dreams will never go away
From that day on, till this day ever since
The fear of the Dark Prince
