Western Glow ===© Bel Thomas 2005Western Glow Deepest orange glow once more Ushers in the lonely night Decorates that western view Precious dreams of moments shared Now in the hearth of burning turf Colour washes over me Warming as I kneel to pray In harmony deep with melancholy Protection from the bitter night Will sustain me through till dawn Replacing in some small way The loss of my lover's arms Then the show was not enough My solitary heart will shatter Sharp cracks to the heavy sky Bright light I cannot use I hear the power in you're voice As you steal my silent soul Whispers turn to roar As I lie upon the floor.... © Bel Thomas 2005 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
