PRELUDE TO AUTUMN  (  Free  Verse)

~Prelude To Autumn~
(Free Verse)

The colors of Autumn are so sleek and profound
Her variegated colors compelled me, always
Reds, golden, greens, russets, yellows and browns,
The colors of Autumn so richly around me, abound!

Evenings falls so peacefully, their secrets take
A new form, a new shade, dripping new whispers,
In the magic of twilight, all her colors evolve
And Winter hangs around her, like a lovesick lover

A sudden quiet comes quickly over the land
My mind drifts off into the safety of His hand
Golden hues of light fade into the horizon
Upon the darkened earth to enchant us all.
