Sitting Here Thinking!Sitting here thinking, With lots of thoughts inside…! Wrestling with the ghosts of the past, From which I can't run, and can't hide! A feeling so overwhelming, Caused nightmares of the night, So scared was I, that I would wake and cry, Filled with a dreadful fright! So now I'm sitting here thinking, About all the trials of my life, All the heartache, tears and pain, Turbulent up's and down's of my strife! I'm wondering how I did it you know! I mean, seeing it through to the end, Because hand on heart, I have to say, I never thought peace would become my friend. And now as I sit here thinking, I am looking to God above, And thank Him most sincerely, For His strength, support, and love! I was told by my friend one day, That God is with me right from the start, And to always put my trust in Him, And my love for Him to impart! So I did, I did as my friend said, For I trust his words so true, I now I find myself in thinking, That without Him, what would I do? My faith in God is second to none, For without Him in my life, And without His devotion to me, I would still be living life in strife! But never once has my faith altered, And never will it do… For the love I have for my God above, Is solid, loyal and true! He has never really let me down, And has been there all of my days, And though at times I had no idea… He was helping me in many ways! He gave me a choice, He deemed two ways, Two paths down which we can go, The bad or good – each a choice, A choice only we will know. I chose the path of righteousness, Never the path way to the gates of hell, For me the true path is the righteous one, As my God above will tell! So I'm sitting here thinking, Pondering on this life of woe, And for that very reason of ‘woe!' I chose the right path to go! God is a good God – always! And no matter my pain or trial!
