Walpurgis Nacht

They come from earth deep
Through layers of bodies
Arrayed as though asleep
Cast them carelessly aside
Just waste
No taste
Cleave the turves wide
Slithering through to
The dark cold outside
In their masses
Some lost
To frost
A band hunger driven
Skeletal gaunt thin
Abstinence shriven
This special night
One need
To feed
This Familiars Night
All Hallows Eve
Out of human sight
Yet invisibly there
Steady
Ready
Pity the mortal found
This W          itching night
By Hallowed ground
When those Wights
Swallow whole
Eternal souls
For all their worth
Before return
To deep deep earth
And remove the fear
For yet another year

Walpurgis Nacht
