Musings by The Poet Loriet
Rainbow
Me
Screams to get out
It yells out loud
Through my violent purple doors
Softened with roses
It hides itself
In the privacy of my home
Sneaking around doing the dishes
In my tye-dyed dress
Paired with shamrock socks
Tole-painted bunnies
Hopping off my ears
My decoupage closets
Hide my secrets
Cut-out lips
Blow me kisses
From the walls that hide me
Someday I will be
An eccentric old woman
Bold and revealed
Standing naked
On my front porch
The world will be my oyster
And I
Its multi-colored
Ever-evolving pearl
Because
I never liked plain white anyways.
