Tommy"s song

                              Tommy's Song
(This song was written for a friend called Tommy, Tommy died loving Ireland)

Can we see a new to-morrow, without our daily sorrow?
The chance we have to do this, it's ours we must not fail
We must face the troubles together, be united come to-morrow
We must face the troubles together, this small price we must pay
We can help each other walk our talk every step along the way
As we face a new to-morrow, I believe that change is near
To walk the streets with lack of fear, children's laughter ringing clear
We have a chance to do this, it's ours we must prevail
Together we'll build a nation with the children of the Gael
Extend a hand of friendship; make the effort one and all
Let's all ensure no more them and us, let's all walk proud and tall
We must face the troubles together, this small price we must pay
We can help each other walk our talk every step along the way
Let's embrace the children of Ireland; let's take that extra step
to unite the young with things to come, the challenge can be met
I love my child like you love yours, let's show them all the way
When this is done, we'll know we've won, to-morrow's another day
When peace becomes a normal life, when troubles are gone forever
That's what the Irish people want, say yes instead of never
I want to enjoy to-morrow morn, with my people my life to share
If we try together, we can make this happen, just tell a friend you care
We won't forget who's gone from life; we'll remember every one
With children's laughter ringing clear, our new day has begun
