A Spiritual Reflection

Proverbs 14:27-33

The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life,
By which one may turn from nets of death;
And shields you from the midst of strife,
As you live well beyond your last breath.

Whoever is slow to anger has good sense,
But he who quickly erupts supports a fool;
While a quiet mind will not easily be tense,
And envy is a disease that makes one cruel.

He who is hard on the poor brings to shame,
But with mercy on the needy brings respect;
Your attitude shines on God and His name,
Showing how your spirituality will reflect.

The sinner has sorrow filled with despair,
While the righteous have joy for their hope;
Since their burdens are lifted up in prayer,
Which lets them each day helping to cope.

For wisdom stays in the mind of the wise,
Planted by God where it is rooted deep;
And is envious to the fool in their demise,
Rather than eternal life it's a death sleep.
