My Upmost Prayer

Lord, keep me humble without greed
I pray for wisdom and faith to grow
give me compassion to take your seed
that it may be planted and sowed.

May I have the courage to do your will
no matter the direction that you lead
let my spirit learn to stand still
so your Holy Spirit can guide and feed.

Never let me be to old to learn
Lord, let your words burn in my heart
keep your path for me straight and stern
so that I will never wavor or part.

Being an example for others to see
to the world a shining light
let you be seen in me
like a beacon in the night.
