Rewind The Time

Rewind the time, make it all make sense
what day is it or what era is it that I can relive?
slowly take me back to love and peace
innocence and laughter....ice cream trucks
remembering now, just how perfect was that?
almost too perfect but it's my dream one day
to go back and soak in all that went away

When I knew no lies or deciet
my biggest problem was my clumsy two feet
those bumps and scraps lasted only for a few minutes
grandma would kiss them
delievering sweet comforting sentences
that I believed whole heartedly
she was my guardian angel
and my hero in my small world

so rewind the time ship me off to that land
candy, teddy bears, and ice cream
giggling at nothing, judging not a soul
running once again through fields of gold
sitting on grandma's lap feeling so protected
and her kisses were the best
if I could just rewind the time
I would ask for a dance that last forever with her.
