This Gift From God.He gave us hands that we may use, As we go through every day life, To touch and feel and savour, To hug people and ease their strife! He gave us eyes so we can see, The pain, and hurt and strife! That flourished throughout the world, This sometimes painful thing - called life! He gave us a heart so vast, So we may hurt and cry and pain, And rejoice in adulation, For the loving we will have once again! He gave us ears that we may hear, And eyes that we may see… But not for all, no, not at all…! For others he let them be… He left them in the dark of night, So black they can-not see… And gave them ears that do not hear, So they live in a world that's noise free! Then this gift from God, this icon wise, Were dogs that lead the blind! To give them freedom to walk about, So it's seeing-eye dogs we find. Then this gift from God, this icon wise, Gave a language good and true, A special language…sign language, To teach us, both me and you! So yes the blind can't see like us, But the beauty that they hold within, Are the thoughts they see inside their head, Thoughts only seen by Him! And though the deaf can't hear, They can clearly say what they tell, For the language of the silent, Holds a special tale that they spell! So what one may be given, And others had taken away…! Always, always remember, No matter what, He will show us a way! He gave us a soul so precious, So we can learn and grow in love, And always remember that He is there, Hovering over us, up above!
