…If It Hurts My Heart…He gave us life, gave us choice, And look what has happened now, The world is in strife, in turmoil, How did it happen, how? He gave up His son for us, To make the world a better place, But now, well all that has happened, Is they have thrown His goodness back in His face! Can-not these peoples see what they do? Don't they know that war causes nothing but hate! Can't they understand at all…? Why the world's in a terrible state! He must be so unhappy, To watch as this sorry sight unfolds, And to know what He gave up us for us, It's a wonder His loving doesn't fold! But still He's there, waiting, With forgiveness in His heart, Hoping that we will do the right thing, Rid the hate, and make a fresh start! ‘How many chances must you give us? Tell me, for I haven't a clue… All I know is if it hurts my heart, Then what will it be doing to you! You allowed Your Son to be crucified! To make way for a better world for all, But all we see is hurt and war… That will cause this sorry world to fall!' How must He feel, this God Almighty! When He looks down on this saddened world, I ask myself did He ever wonder…! How the hate would be unfurled!!! I guess we all got it wrong, Oh how sad a plight we are in, And the truth of the matter is, Even the winners will never win! For by their own hand they destroy, And now, come judgement day…! When we get our final call! Recompense we will have to pay! …Some kind of loving… Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
