veronicas planet

left behind

The angels never saved you,
yet the rain fell anyway,
the clock continued to tick,
How could anyone discuss the weather,
when my world had blown away.

Mother locked herself in hell,
The newspaper made her remember,
the vikadin helped her forget.
Father never said a word,
this will disappear if we close our eyes,
reality distorted with each pint.

I remember sitting at the funeral,
listening to each person speak,
afraid to talk,
afraid to move,
The quiet little girl afraid to live.
Straight A's,
perfect smile,
The little ray of sunshine,
dying inside.

Years passed by,
nothing discussed,
nothing said,
only a memory of a smile,
that no one can forget.
