Musings by The Poet Loriet

Insomnia
Up late
Witching hour
Wishing hour
Reading cosmo
Midnight lust
Cosmic proportions
Turns to dust
in my hands
I'm a fan
of not making
too much sense
a lot of cents
Put your money
where your mouth is
and let your lips roam
over pina colada lollipop
pop, pop, don't stop
stop
keeping me awake
oh wanderlust mind
of mine
you torture me
with pleasure
and I can't
play the game
with no rules
because
I could get
burned
in my
burning bed
turn my head
away
from
dreams of you
my little boy blue
asleep in the hay
and all I want
is to roll in it
and with the punches
of your punctuations
so be punctual
in your crime
and punishment
arrest my breathing
and resuscitate
mary
and the virgin lamb
before
the campfire
becomes
smoldering embers
not fit for
a marshmallow creme
puff
poof,
a magic dragon
drags me back
to sanity
but the insane
still cries out
to be validated
valet park me
in the lot marked
full
and reserve my spot
on level g
because I can't stay
I must
smell his musk
loose
association
of assets
know their value
and appraise
the situation
carefully
taking care
of the business
that begs you
to work it
overtime
and without
a lunch break.
Stay
and stain
my heart
oh scarlet
yes, Rhett?
I am gone
with the wind
and its 3 sheets
to ride like
a cowgirl
the saddle
calls to me
leather
lace my corset
of course
not too tight
baby
because I might
just discard it
in Des Plaines
plain view
of the streetlight's
misty aura.
I miss you.
