Musings by The Poet Loriet

Rainbow II

She
cries out
into suburbia's domesticated stillness,
flinging wide
volatile purple doors.

No longer will she hide,
scrubbing toilets in her tie-dyed dress...
Nor will her decoupaged closets
serve to conceal life's crockery.

Instead---
 she will find the courage

Someday she will be an eccentric old woman,
bold and revealed,
naked on her front porch,
bathed in lunar luminosity.
Laughing, she will dance the fandango,
complete with  red rose clenched in teeth.

The world will be her oyster!

Unabashedly,
she will be its multicultured,
ever-evolving

because she abhorrs plain white,
preferring instead...
an eclectic blend of hues...
like muligatawny soup,
multi-lingual,
multi-colored,
and
munificent.

She
longs
to

SHINE!
