Musings by The Poet Loriet

Lost Innocence

Emerald waves
extend foamy tongues
to lick, tease sandy shores.
Mermaids,
longing for forbidden earth,
steal these moments,
erode beaches,
knock down sandcastles
in frenzied lust,
then ripple away.
They're naughty girls
who long to grind
moist tails against
earthy hips,
then sail
into aqueous oblivion---
their tinkling laughter
swallowed by the sound
of seagulls crying.
