Baby ValentineWee, chubby cherub; baby mine; Sweet angel face with eyes of blue. Will not you be my Valentine? Sure; my heart flows with love for you. Precious bundle, gift-wrapped in pink. Wisps of yellow adorn your head. Tiny eyelids that wink and blink As you lie dreaming in your bed. Marveling; I gaze down at you. A blest creation; wrought in love. Rose cheeks; fresh as the morning dew, You are my pure, my sweetest love. When now you suckle at my breast Little hand clutched tightly to mine. Tears of joy on your forehead rest. Thank you, Lord, for my "Valentine." Copyright © by Michelle. Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
