Musings by The Poet Loriet
Cardiac Care
Cardiac Care
Honey, let your heart out.
I promise to handle it
with kid gloves.
Hearts weren't meant
to be caged.
I want to nurse it,
find each hidden contour,
caress them soothingly
with my fingers,
heal the wounds
with TLC.
I won't lie to you...
this might hurt
a little bit.
I'll prepare
an injection
of warm comfort
to numb
sensitive nerves.
I promise
to be gentle,
use my best
bedside manner.
You'll be my star patient.
I'll be your private-duty nurse.
Let me hold your heart
in my hands
and touch it
carefully
to mine.
Fused together-
One heart,
One love-
No boundaries.
I love you.
