Musings by The Poet Loriet
Thief
You say it's preposterous
for me to be unhappy.
You get angry if I cry.
You tell me how to feel
and when to feel it,
yet you feel your emotions
whenever you want.
You can't control
my emotions.
I'm beginning to learn
that it's always okay
to feel--
You stole my heart.
I didn't know
you'd steal my feelings too.
If you don't mind,
I'd really like
to have them back.
You can't take "me"
away from myself.
Give me back
my dignity.
