You can't love a stranger,
someone who whispers weary disquises,
You can't love somebody who is alone,
somebody who is out there,
on the other side of the line that divides,
rights from wrongs,
love from sadness,
poems from songs,
You can't touch a stranger-
they betray all of their feelings,
the first time they look at you,
they hide what's inside-
You can't love a stranger who pretends not to care,
who chooses to look away-
instead of looking deep into your eyes,
who is afraid of love's relentless stare,
a stranger doesn't try,
instead they lie,
about themselves,
