Oh, speeding, winged, thief that not so gracefully always flies
My own archenemy with whom I must without choice ever coincide
Can you not slow your driving and unforgiving, relentless flight
Give me pause to catch my breath and reflect on this most curious ride
When on trembling, fledgling legs stands almost cautiously slow
In competent youth, so joyous, soars to a most grandiose height
And yet when it becomes so precious; winged Mercury could not win
Oh time, still, for just one moment and let me yet embrace the flight
