Dancing Denise!

There once was a girl,
With long flowing hair,
Who never stood still,
Who danced everywhere!

Everyone called her
Dancing Denise,
Because they all thought
She had magical feet!

She danced in the morning
When slurping her juice
Gulping her cornflakes
And tying her shoes!

Dancing Denise
Waltzed down the street,
Swinging her hair,
And shaking her feet!

Into the school yard,
Denise danced in style,
Circled her friends,
And gave them a smile!

She swirled in the classroom,
And bounced on her desk.
Her teacher yelled loudly,
“Denise, what a mess”!

Dancing Denise
Twisted and turned,
Confusing her friends,
Who were trying to learn!

She danced to the office,
And knocked on the door,
The headmaster sighed,
As she tapped on the floor!

At lunch time she twisted,
While eating her cake,
She wiggled and jiggled,
And started to shake!

Dancing Denise
To the library twirled,
While reading her story,
She twisted and swirled.

When doing her sums,
She circled with style,
With her book and her pencil,
And a wonderful smile!

Dancing Denise
Painted with swirls,
She flicked all the paint,
Into colourful curls!

Sometimes at play time,
She'd take a boys hand,
And waltz with him slowly,
In movements so grand!

She'd line up the teachers,
With hands on their hips,
And show them all how
To rhythmically kick!

She'd pair off her classmates,
A boy with a girl,
And lead them all into
A magical swirl!

When it was time
To joyously sing,
Dancing Denise,
Did a wonderful fling!

She waved to her friends
As she tapped down the stairs,
Then waltzed up the street,
With free flowing hair!

Dancing Denise
Swirled home in great style,
And circled her mother
With her face in a smile!

If ever at midnight,
You find you can't sleep,
You might hear soft tapping,
From Dancing Denise!
