Why The Pain?

Life is sometimes so very hard,
And a struggle to get through the day!
But we do get through, no matter how,
We do it and make each day okay!
Well, we try, but sometimes we glitch,
As for me, well, hell, I glitch too!
Life is never as easy as we think,
But we should always prevail and come through!

Why the pain that we suffer;
And how come we have such strife?
Then again, no-one said it was easy,
This wonderful thing called life!
For no matter what comes to pass,
As we travel on through life,
Sometimes things are really fantastic,
And others, well, they're full of strife!

But no matter the trials before us,
And no matter the hurt or pain,
We should always, always be thankful;
For we really have everything to gain!
Rather I would live in this body so bad,
Than not be here at all, cos you see,
I have everything to live for,
For all the love bestowed on me!

We would never know the seasons,
And never know the colours around,
Or feel the love of another,
Or have hugs when solace can't be found!
Life is like a box of candy,
Lift the lid and what do you see?
A kaleidoscope of beauty all around,
For everyday that we are lucky to see!

So for every time someone causes hurt,
Stop, think and take stock, look to you,
For no matter what anyone thinks or says,
You do what we have to do!
And that's not to take it on board,
And let it slide – let it go!
And live your life to the best you can!
And reap all that you sow!

Why the pain, why the hurt?
It's called; ‘life!'
