 BEHIND THE MASK OF BEAUTY

Inner Beauty

When I look in the mirror I see someone ugly
And it hurts because I can't see my inner beauty

When I step out into the world people start to stare
They sit there and laugh, they don't even care

I try to make myself look beautiful but it never works
My ugliness won't go away it just causes me more hurt

I lock myself in my room, sit in a corner and cry
Why am I so ugly, someone, tell me why

Will I ever find anyone who will see my inner beauty
Someone who will care and love me for me

Will I always hurt and cry lonely tears all day
Or will this ugliness fade and bring me a better day

I try to see my inner beauty but it never seems to work
It only gets worse because it causes more hurt
