I was happy at one point

Every day I expressed my love
There was never a reason to doubt

That smile on your face
Always brightened up my day
My feelings for you
Had never slipped away
I was so in love
But too blind to see
The man I thought loved me back
Was slipping away from me
I didn't want to realize
I loved you more than you loved me
I didn't want to accept
That I made you so unhappy
You just went on
As if everything was OK
That's why I never realized
You were slipping away
I was so in love
Then you slowly break my heart
I soon saw the signs
That we were falling apart
You no longer had time
Not a minute to spare
I looked into your eyes
And I saw no love there
It hurt me so much
I truly loved you
My heart was slowly breaking
I didn't know what to do
I tried to make you happy
I tried to make it work
No matter what I did
I ended up getting hurt
You made me think you loved me
When the love was really gone
You made me waste my time
When I could have been moving on
I gave you all my love
But my love you betrayed
How did I not see
That you were slipping away
