looking out
watching herself looking in
I wondered if she was awake
I wondered if I was dreaming
I couldn't take my eyes off her
she started to cry
but all I did was stare
they say if you look hard enough
you can see the heart of the horizon
the point where everything else disappears
and it's as deep as any ocean
some people live in this sunless paradise
wishing their lives away on a star
hoping for something beyond the glass
but all I did was stare
she looked so peaceful
looked like no-one could get to her
I thought about what they'd said
about lost innocence
about being scared
I wanted to say something
