M's Poetry
Written In Stone
I'll be back the words so simple
they sound of hope and a reunion
wondering quietly if ever there was one
who ever wrote this might have had good intentions
or maybe they may never have meant it
but for the other's sake I sure hope they did
cuz words like that makes the heart skip a beat
makes the eyes sparkles
the world shrinks and seems smaller
just knowing that face you will see again
I'll be back written in stone
carved in all caps
it screams for attention
even though the water has run over the tablet
nothing will erase those words
and no matter what it stays in the mind
fast forward or rewind....it always stays the same
There is a date at the bottom 1971
that is so long ago
if that person never came
whatever became of probably the heartbroken
as I walk past the boardwalk
use my last token
to try and win that stupid radio you want
ka-ching I win, luck strikes sometimes at the right time
and as I return to the hotel
I remember my last words
I'll be back....the same exact words written in stone.
