Somewhere to go,
nowhere to be.
In between the days
and the nights,
your face beckons me
to come away,
yet run toward the new.
It is like a lighthouse
this love of ours.
When it is dark all around
and my sense of direction is gone,
I see your steady light
showing me the way.
I am no longer in the dark.
I am in the serene waters
of my home, my heart.
The tempest-tossed seas
have subsided. The seas are
still and calm. You are my safe port.
The place where I hide myself,
a place not reached by the tide.
