If Only I Knew
I wish I would have listened to you
Everything you said about life was true
I was the stupid one who didn't care
You warned me, but I ignored you like you weren't there
If only I would have listened I wouldn't have cold food on my plate
I wouldn't have to listen to people who only hate
If only I knew one mistake was all it took
I wouldn't be here now, I would be reading a book
If only I knew how lonely it is to be locked up in a cell
Then I wouldn't be here in this juvenile h***
If only I knew what the "tough life" was all about
I wouldn't have to hear them scream and shout
Don't blame yourself, it was all me
If only I would have listened then maybe I would have seen
