King Clifford
king Clifford had a harem
And he fed them very well.
Prince Marvin did the cooking
And rang the dinner bell!
King Clifford spent his money
On the very best of food.
He had to keep the ladies
In a sweet and happy mood!
Prince Marvin read out poetry
To nicely pass the time.
King Clifford got real grumpy
If the poetry did not rhyme!
The ladies in the harem
Grew soft and round and fat.
King Clifford grew more cranky
And told the ladies all to scat!
King Clifford sat in boredom,
And shed so many tears.
Prince Marvin read more poetry
To try to give him cheer!
King Clifford was so lonely
And missed the ladies moods.
Prince Marvin tried to please him
So grew stinky rude and crude!
They both grew old and crazy
And life for them was black.
Each night when they fell asleep,
They dreamed the ladies back!
Joy Weare.
14th August, 2005.
